Eaton Corporation provides power management solutions worldwide, including hydraulics products for mobile and industrial applications. When a deteriorated test cell cooling loop at the corporation’s hydraulics testing facility in Eden Prairie called for replacement, Eaton called for Yale Mechanical.
The scope of the project – which included wholesale replacement of the cooling loop serving the 29 test cells – demanded that the testing facility remain operational during the replacement. Rather than shut down the entire system, we kept portions of the old system running while replacing the outdated cells one by one. To ensure the best value and long-term viability, we installed new, corrosion-resistant Aquatherm Blue Pipe, featuring heat fusion connections (rather than flanged or welded) preformed by Yale’s own HVAC team. The result of the project was improved cooling operations without impacting Eaton’s operational capacity.
