Your HVAC Project, Built to Spec

When an HVAC project goes to bid, general contractors and developers need a mechanical sub who can take a third-party set of prints, plans, and specs, break them down accurately, and build exactly what is specified. Yale Mechanical has the scale, licensed staff, and estimating experience to do that across Minnesota and surrounding states.

Plan & Spec vs. Design-Build

Plan & Spec HVAC construction

Starts with a completed set of engineering prints. Yale bids on those prints, wins the contract through a competitive RFP process, and builds exactly what is specified. This model is typically used by general contractors, developers, and institutions working with outside architects and engineering firms.

HVAC Design & Build services >

A direct-to-owner model where Yale's in-house engineers handle both the design and the construction, eliminating the need for a separate engineering firm. It works best for existing clients remodeling or repurposing a space who want a single accountable partner from concept to completion.

HVAC Construction FAQ

  • What size HVAC construction projects can you execute?

We work on HVAC projects of any size, across commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities, whether you just need to swap out a single rooftop unit or build a massive, multi-million dollar commercial system from the ground up.

  • How do you minimize business downtime during an equipment swap or retrofit?

System downtime directly stops production, disrupts tenants, and costs your business revenue. To avoid those issues we align our installation schedules to match your operational reality. By keeping HVAC, plumbing, and duct fabrication in-house under a single project manager, we execute physical swaps and tenant improvements rapidly to keep your facility online and profitable

  • What is your turnaround time for bidding on third-party specs and RFPs?

We know all-too well that general contractors and developers operate under razor-thin bidding schedules and cannot afford delayed estimates. For this reason, we prioritize rapid, highly accurate cost breakdowns. Because we operate with exceptionally low overhead and utilize dedicated, in-house commercial estimators, we can quickly dissect your architectural engineering prints and deliver highly competitive, on-spec bids within your procurement deadlines.

  • If a critical system fails post-construction, what are your response guarantees?

We run our own local 24/7 dispatch team. Nothing is worse than in an emergency getting routed to generic, automated call centers or waiting days for a response. So we work hard to ensure when you call after hours, you talk to an actual local employee, not an offshore call center. We guarantee same-day response times for our contract maintenance partners to resolve emergency heating or cooling failures immediately. You can learn more on our Emergency HVAC Repair page, or if you ever experience a system failure you can call our dispatch team immediately at (952) 884-1661.

  • Do you bid on public and private commercial RFPs?

Yes. We are registered on major commercial bid boards and partner closely with general contractors, developers, and estimators to provide highly competitive, budget-accurate bids on pre-designed plans and specs
